Swarzędz

Swarzędz, a town in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, boasts a rich history dating back to human settlement from 8,000 to 3,500 years ago, with numerous archaeological remains. First mentioned in 1366, Swarzędz was owned by the Górka family. The town received its city rights in 1638 when it was renamed Grzymałowo, but it quickly reverted to the name Swarzędz. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the town was a renowned textile center, and today it focuses on the furniture and carpentry industries, reflected in the presence of numerous workshops.
