Szastarka Commune, known until 1954 as Brzozówka Commune, is a picturesque rural municipality located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within Kraśnik County. Its administrative seat is the village of Szastarka. From 1975 to 1998, the commune was part of the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. As of the end of 2020, it had a population of 5,733 residents. The commune covers an area of 73.53 km², of which 85% is agricultural land and 10% is forested, highlighting its rural character and the importance of agriculture. An interesting fact is that in July 1984, Szastarka Commune was entered into the "Book of Merit for the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship," underscoring its historical significance and contributions to the region.
