The commune has a rich history dating back to the Second Polish Republic, when it was part of the Łask County in the Łódź Voivodeship. The commune's history is reflected in preserved documents, local legends, and traditions, enriching knowledge about the region. Demographically, Szczerców features a diverse age pyramid, encompassing both younger generations and seniors, which may influence its future development and social dynamics. Contemporary challenges for the commune include adapting to demographic changes and the need for sustainable development that balances tradition with modernity. The commune borders neighboring municipalities such as Kleszczów, Kluki, and Rząśnia, facilitating the exchange of experiences and cooperation in local and regional development. With its history, cultural heritage, and natural assets, Szczerców is an important part of the Łódź Voivodeship's landscape.
