Szczytno Rural Commune, located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship within Szczytno County, boasts a rich history and diverse demographic and land structure. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Olsztyn Voivodeship. The seat of the commune is the town of Szczytno, which had a population of 13,095 at the end of 2019, indicating an increase compared to 2007, when the population was 10,810. The commune covers an area of 346.24 km², of which 36% is agricultural land and 48% is forest land, highlighting the area's significant ecological value. Szczytno Commune constitutes 17.96% of the area of Szczytno County.
