Tłuchowo is a rural municipality located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Lipno County, with its seat in Tłuchowo. The municipality covers an area of 98.67 km², of which 77% is agricultural land and 17% is forest land, making it one of the agricultural areas of the region. The municipality is home to 4,648 people (data as of December 31, 2019), and its history dates back to the 7th–3rd centuries BCE, as evidenced by cemeteries discovered in Michałkowo and Turza Wilcza. In the 19th century, the first schools were established, and during World War I, a secret organization of the Polish Military Organisation (POW) operated in Mysłakówko, led by Jan Gniazdowski. The municipality has three educational institutions: two primary schools and a kindergarten. Additionally, in 1965, the Municipal Cultural Center was opened in Tłuchowo, which today offers activities for young people. The local sports club, Tłuchowia Tłuchowo, is active in the municipality, and sports infrastructure includes a municipal stadium and school sports fields built under the Orlik 2012 program. Tłuchowo is famous for its wooden barn from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, recognized as a cultural monument. An interesting fact is that Tłuchowo constitutes 9.72% of the area of Lipno County and borders municipalities such as Brudzeń Duży, Dobrzyń nad Wisłą, Mochowo, Skępe, and Wielgie.
