Tadeusz Reytan VI High School, located at Wiktorska 30/32 in Warsaw, is one of the oldest secondary schools in the city, with a history dating back to 1905. Initially a private gymnasium, it has evolved over the years into a significant educational institution. In 1937, the school moved to a larger building, and in 1958, it began operating at its current location. The high school has achieved a strong position in educational rankings, placing 14th in Warsaw and 36th in Poland in the 2021 "Perspektywy" ranking. In 2023, it was ranked 19th among Warsaw's high schools.
The school ran the Open School program from 2011, organizing lectures and workshops across various fields, demonstrating its commitment to fostering culture and knowledge. It also collaborates with the Warsaw School of Economics through the "SGH Academic Class" program and offers a variety of sports activities. As part of its sports education, sailing, mountaineering, and kayaking clubs were established, and students participated in the "All Poland Runs with the Cooper Test" project.
An active reading room and library, open since 2011, houses materials related to the high school's history. Scouting has a long tradition at Reytan, including the "Czarna Jedynka" troop, which has promoted scouting values since 1911. In 1977, a group of teachers participated in a protest against the repression of workers, reflecting the school's strong tradition of social engagement over the years.
Tadeusz Reytan VI High School not only provides education but also actively engages in social and cultural life, distinguished by a strong community of students and teachers, as well as numerous educational achievements. In addition to its scouting traditions, the school has a rich musical heritage, associated with the band "Między niebem a ziemią," formed in the 1960s. Reytan students participate in numerous competitions, projects, and local community initiatives. The school's symbol is the "teerka," stylized initials of its patron, emphasizing its unique identity.
