wikipedia
Tajęcina is a village located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the municipality of Trzebownisko, situated 10 km from Rzeszów. Its origins date back to the 16th century, when it was primarily inhabited by people sentenced to banishment. The history of the village is linked to the escape of residents from Zaczernie from invaders in the 17th century. Tajęcina is known for its traditions of forest foraging, oil production, and logging. In 1913, the first school was established there, and after World War II, the village was slated for liquidation due to the expansion of the airport. It gained administrative independence in 1973. An architectural highlight of Tajęcina is the Church of Blessed Father Jan Balicki, consecrated in 2003, featuring modern architecture—a single-nave design with a marble interior and a triptych-style altar. The village also boasts a historic 19th-century chapel where residents held religious services. Culturally, it is distinguished by its Community Center (Dom Ludowy) and the formerly active children's theater group TEATR 39. Tajęcina also has significant natural assets, with forests covering two-thirds of its area. The village is home to the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS and an industrial zone dominated by aviation-related manufacturing. Additionally, the village features a modern Rehabilitation Center and investments in infrastructure, which contribute to its growing population. A variety of social activities are available in Tajęcina—from sports to dance workshops—fostering integration within the local community.
