wikipedia
The manor house "Ludwikówka," built around 1800 according to the designs of architect Wilhelm Pusch, is a neoclassical building located in Pszczyna, in the northern part of the former English park. Constructed on a rectangular plan with a residential attic and a basement, it features a portico projecting from the facade with four Tuscan columns supporting a triangular pediment adorned with the coat of arms of the Anhalt family. The rear elevation is distinguished by two axes and a two-story risalit decorated with pilasters. The hipped roof, originally covered with slate, was later replaced with roofing felt, but has since been restored to its original slate covering. The interiors were originally laid out in a two-bay system, and the ceilings are decorated with fascias. The manor is named after Ludwig of Anhalt, the youngest son of Frederick Erdmann, for whom it was built as a residence. Until 1830, it served as Ludwig's permanent home, and during his reign (1830–1841), it became the center of court life, connected with trips to the hunting lodge in Promnice. Listed as a historical monument, the building underwent a comprehensive restoration between 2008 and 2010, highlighting its historical and cultural significance. As a former residence of the princes of Pszczyna, "Ludwikówka" is an important part of the local architectural heritage, with efforts made to preserve it through modernization and conservation.
