The Collegiate Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Michael the Archangel in Łask is a historic church whose history dates back to 1366, when Archbishop Jarosław of Bogoria and Skotniki established an independent parish at a wooden church founded by the Łaski family. The masonry, late-Gothic temple, whose construction began in 1515, was repeatedly rebuilt, with the most significant change brought about by a great fire in 1747, after which the church interior was reconstructed in the Baroque style. The artistic richness of the collegiate church is not only its architectural structure but also its valuable interiors, including a late-Gothic alabaster bas-relief of the Our Lady of Łask from the 15th century, attributed to the Italian master Andrea della Robbia. The church became the seat of the Łask Collegiate Chapter, indicating its importance in the local church hierarchy. Over the centuries, the collegiate church survived numerous disasters, such as fires that destroyed its rich furnishings, as well as periods of war and occupation. In the 20th century, after further transformations and renovations, it became the site of important events, such as the coronation of the image of Our Lady of Łask in 2005 by Archbishop Władysław Ziółek and the consecration of the golden crowns by Pope John Paul II. The Collegiate Church in Łask, being part of the history and culture of the region, is a symbol of religious heritage, architecture, and local tradition, attracting pilgrims and tourists while also being a significant point on the map of Polish sanctuaries.
