Łask is an urban-rural municipality in the Łódź Voivodeship, with its seat in the town of Łask. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality belonged to the Sieradz Voivodeship. In 2007, the municipality covered an area of 145.37 km², of which 70% was agricultural land and 18% was forest land. At that time, the municipality was inhabited by 28,479 people, and the demographic structure of the residents showed age diversity. Łask is distinguished by its rich history, dating back to medieval times, as well as its diverse architecture, including historic churches and public utility buildings. The municipality has many village councils (sołectwa), including Borszewice, Gorczyn, Stryje Księże, and Wiewiórczyn, as well as settlements without village council status, such as Grabina and Jabłonki. It borders the municipalities of Buczek, Dobroń, Sędziejowice, Szadek, Wodzierady, Zelów, and Zduńska Wola. Łask maintains cooperation with partner cities, such as the German town of Elbtalaue and the Belarusian town of Lahoysk, which demonstrates the municipality's international openness. It is also worth noting that the municipality plays an important role in local culture and traditions, organizing various events and festivals that integrate the local community.
