wikipedia
The Concert Shell in Krynica-Zdrój is a historic bandstand for the spa orchestra, located on the promenade of Krynica, nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Parkowa Mountain, between the New Spa House and the Main Pump Room. It was built in the neoclassical style in the 1920s as a replacement for the old wooden bandstand from the 1870s. It was put into use in 1926 and has not undergone any major transformations since then. The structure features two rows of stairs leading inside, where the stage is adorned with a decorative chandelier, and the front wall displays a bas-relief and a plaque dedicated to Jan Kiepura, a renowned singer and owner of the nearby "Patria" villa, who regularly performed at this venue. The Concert Shell is not only a significant architectural element but also an important cultural site hosting various musical events, making it a key landmark in Krynica-Zdrój. Interestingly, despite the passage of time, the shell has retained its original features and stands as a testament to the aesthetics and culture of that era.
