wikipedia
The manor in Baranówka, located in the Kocmyrzów-Luborzyca municipality of Kraków County, is a historic property listed in the register of monuments of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Built on a rectangular plan, the brick manor was constructed in the 20th century on the site of an earlier wooden building erected in the 19th century by Count Wielopolski. Its later reconstruction was the work of Józef Amoureux, who in the 1920s gave it its brick form and surrounded it with a park dating from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, which now covers an area of approximately 1.5 hectares. The architecture of the manor is characterized by a two-column portico, a broken Polish-style roof, and a two-story garden projection, which give the building its unique style. The outbuilding, an integral part of the structure, is adorned with a turret featuring a tented roof. Another valuable feature of the manor is a statue of the Virgin Mary from 1864, located near the buildings. Historically, the manor was part of the episcopal estate in Luborzyca, managed by the Wielopolski family and later by Józef Amoureux, who administered the property until the outbreak of World War II. During the war, the estate was managed by his sister. After the war, the building lost its original purpose—it served as a warehouse, a school, and a library. Today, due to its poor technical condition, its future remains uncertain. The property also has an unresolved legal status, which further complicates its fate. Due to its architectural, historical, and regional cultural significance, the manor in Baranówka remains a valuable testament to a bygone era, yet it urgently requires intervention for its protection and revitalization.
