The Museum of Bedtime Stories in Rzeszów

The Museum of Bedtime Stories in Rzeszów, located in the city center near the market square, was established by a resolution of the City Council on January 29, 2008, with a collection donated by Wojciech Jama. The museum opened its doors on March 22, 2009. This institution is a unique place where visitors can admire various exhibits related to iconic Polish bedtime stories, including puppets from puppet films and other items such as toys, books, posters, and philatelic materials. The museum also houses unusual exhibits, such as packaging from food and cosmetic products, often with their original contents preserved. Among its treasures are thousands of items connected to popular animations, with unique puppets from productions like *The Adventures of Colargol the Bear*, *Uszatek the Bear*, *Plastusiowy pamiętnik* (*Tolek’s Diary*), and *Maurycy i Hawranek* (*Maurice and Hawranek*) drawing particular attention. The Museum of Bedtime Stories holds both cultural and educational significance, introducing younger generations to the history of Polish animation and its impact on children's culture. Interestingly, the museum also reflects changes in Polish society, showcasing how animations influenced children's upbringing and entertainment across different eras.
