The Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary and St. Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr in Łódź, located in the Łódź-Stoki deanery of the Archdiocese of Łódź, was established on April 17, 1932. The church, designed by architect Józef Kaban in the modernist style, was built between 1929 and 1931 on the highest elevation in Łódź—the Stoki Plateau, at an altitude of approximately 280 meters above sea level—making it a significant landmark in the Widzew district. Its structure, built with local brick, features a flat roof and simple yet elegant lines. During World War II, the church was converted into a warehouse, but after the war, it was rebuilt and refurbished, allowing pastoral activities to resume. An important architectural feature of the church is the presbytery, raised by three steps, along with numerous stained-glass windows and marble altars. The parish, which has about 7,500 members, actively serves the local community. Regular worship services are held, and parishioners participate in various pastoral groups such as Catholic Action, Caritas, and the Schola. A notable historical fact is that during the Nazi occupation in 1940, the church suffered severe damage. Thanks to the efforts of successive parish priests, it was successfully rebuilt and restored, which contributed to an increase in the number of parishioners. In the 1980s, under the leadership of Fr. Grzegorz Kudrzycki, the expansion of the church continued. On June 13, 1987, Cardinal Władysław Ziółek consecrated the cornerstone for the new section of the church and the bell tower, which still serves the parish community today. In recent years, the parish has installed solar panels and heat pumps, demonstrating a commitment to modern solutions and environmentally friendly management of the facility. The current parish priest is Fr. Canon Marek Izydorczyk, who leads various pastoral initiatives. The parish cultivates local traditions, organizes pilgrimages, and engages in charitable activities. The Cantilena Choir, active since 2011, enriches religious life with musical culture through participation in liturgies and concerts. The parish continuously undertakes efforts aimed at both spiritual and social development, making it an important cultural and religious center in the region.
