Kleszczele is an urban-rural municipality located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, within Hajnówka County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kleszczele. The municipality has a rich history, covering an area of 142.62 km², of which 54% is agricultural land and 38% is forested. In the past, between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Białystok Voivodeship. According to the 1921 National Census, the municipality had 2,787 inhabitants, with a diverse religious structure dominated by Orthodox Christianity. By 2004, the population had grown to 2,966 people. Kleszczele is characterized by an interesting demographic structure, with residents declaring affiliations to various nationalities, including Polish and Belarusian.
