Neseser is an outdoor sculpture by Maciej Kurak, located at Ławica Airport in Poznań, next to the side entrance of the terminal. The artwork, measuring 4.5 × 3 × 1.5 meters, depicts a massive, bright lemon-yellow suitcase, symbolically representing the issues of consumer society, such as the accumulation of excess goods and their transportation. The sculpture was purchased by the Provincial Public Library in Poznań and the Center for Cultural Animation for 150,000 PLN and has been on deposit at the airport since October 22, 2009, as part of the "Poznań – City of Art" project. Kurak, a winner of the Polityka Passport in the visual arts category, uses his work to pose questions about the purpose of accumulating material goods and knowledge, pondering whether such accumulation is necessary or merely stems from anxiety-driven behavior. The suitcase, with its enormous contents, symbolizes that an excess of objects can become a burden, hindering development and mobility. The sculpture is part of a broader collection of art at the airport, alongside other works such as "Lotus Eaters" by Piotr Kurka and "Life is a Story" by Izabella Gustowska. Additionally, in front of the old terminal stands the Monument to the Conquerors of Ławica Airport, created in 1984 by Jerzy Sobociński and Saturnin Skubiszyński. Neseser is not only an artistic piece but also a profound reflection on consumerism and our relationship with objects in an era of easy access to goods.
