The municipality of Tolkmicko, located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, is an urban-rural municipality with its seat in the town of Tolkmicko. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Elbląg Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 6,631 people, while by the end of 2019, the population was 6,571. The municipality covers an area of 225.3 km², of which 20% is agricultural land and 25% is forest land, making it one of the smaller municipalities in terms of area in Elbląg County, accounting for 15.75% of its total area. Tolkmicko is rich in natural resources, with numerous natural monuments and reserves, such as the Bażyński Oak and the Elbląg Upland Landscape Park, which attracts nature lovers. The municipality borders the city of Elbląg and other municipalities, such as Frombork and Sztutowo. The area of the municipality is also a place of rich history and culture, which can be explored by visiting local monuments and participating in cultural events. Interestingly, the municipality is home to extremely valuable ecosystems and natural sites, which are not only a tourist attraction but also an important element of environmental protection in the region.
