wikipedia
The Elbląg Upland Landscape Park, established on April 26, 1985, covers an area of 13,417.47 hectares and is surrounded by a buffer zone of 7,679.16 hectares. Located in the northernmost part of Poland, it stands out for its mountainous character of vegetation, dominated by beech forests and rare species such as the mountain fern and the martagon lily. The park's fauna includes species such as red deer, the lesser spotted eagle, and the white-tailed eagle, making it an important area for species conservation. The highest point in the park is Góra Srebrna (Silver Mountain), reaching 198.5 meters above sea level, and the park is home to numerous streams that create a picturesque landscape. In terms of architecture, the park invites visitors to explore the Baroque palace in Kadyny, which is a valuable historical testament to the region. The Kadyny Palace, built in the 18th century, was once the summer residence of the von der Groben family. It is a site of cultural significance, attracting tourists with its architecture and beautiful gardens. The park also includes several nature reserves, such as Kadyński Las, Buki Wysoczyzny Elbląskiej, Dolina Stradanki, Nowinka, and Zatoka Elbląska, parts of which lie within the park and its buffer zone. Notable features include rare plant and animal species, as well as the distinctive upland landscape, which in Poland is primarily found in this region. Despite its location in northern Poland, the Elbląg Upland attracts nature and architecture enthusiasts, offering excellent conditions for active recreation and exploration of the region's cultural heritage. Previously known as the Elbląg Elevation Landscape Park, it remains an important site for nature conservation and outdoor activities, combining natural beauty with rich history and architecture.
