wikipedia
The Town Hall in Góra Kalwaria is a valuable example of Classical architecture, built between 1829 and 1834 according to a design by Bonifacy Witkowski and Henryk Marconi. It is located on the site of the former market square, which has since been transformed into a green square, highlighting the historical importance of this location in the town's history. The central part of the building is two stories high, masonry-built, and has a square layout, while a distinctive feature is the projection topped with a triangular pediment bearing the coat of arms of Góra Kalwaria. The entrance to the town hall is aligned with the axis of the projection, and above it, there is a balcony, giving the structure a representative character. The roof is gabled and covered with sheet metal. The building suffered significant damage during World War II and was rebuilt between 1950 and 1951. Another renovation took place in the 1990s, which helped preserve its historical appearance. For a long time, the town hall served as the seat of the municipal authorities and the Civil Registry Office, making it an important landmark in Góra Kalwaria. Its architecture and history form a valuable part of the region's cultural heritage, attracting both tourists and local residents. Interestingly, the town hall not only served administrative functions but was also a center of social and cultural life, hosting various local events.
