"Train to Heaven" is a unique artistic installation located in Wrocław at Strzegomski Square, unveiled in October 2010. The centerpiece of the sculpture is a historic steam locomotive, the Ty2-1035, which, together with a section of track, forms an impressive structure standing 21 meters tall and weighing 82 tons, making it the largest urban sculpture in Poland. Designed by Andrzej Jarodzki, the installation is enhanced with 32 metal railway sleepers, some of which bear inscriptions, and a bilingual plaque in front of the monument describes the work. The idea for "Train to Heaven" originated in 1994 and was realized with the support of the company Archicom, which sponsored the project. The Ty2-1035 steam locomotive used for the installation previously belonged to PKP (Polish State Railways) and was stored at the Museum of Industry and Railways in Silesia in Jaworzyna Śląska. The installation not only highlights the importance of railways in Wrocław's history but also serves as an example of modern public art that engages both residents and tourists. "Train to Heaven" symbolizes journey, hope, and memories associated with the railway, making it an important landmark on the city's cultural map.
