TVP3 Poznań

TVP3 Poznań is the regional branch of Polish Television (Telewizja Polska), operating since 1957 and based in Poznań. Since its inception, the station has contributed to the development of local media in the Greater Poland region, with its flagship program being the news service "Teleskop." The history of the station is closely tied to the architecture of the Poznań International Fair, where the first studio was organized, and later to its headquarters on Niepodległości Avenue. Television has undergone many technological stages, transitioning from black-and-white to color broadcasting and eventually to digital transmission. An interesting fact is that in the 1950s and 1960s, programs were retransmitted from Łódź, and the first connections to the nationwide television network were established in 1959 through a radio link. It is worth noting the technological evolution, which in 2000 led to HD broadcasting and digital serialization of programs, and since 2023, TVP3 Poznań has been available in HD on the DVB-T2/HEVC platform. The television programs offer a rich thematic range, including regional news, public affairs, cultural programs, and sports coverage, often produced with the local community in mind. TVP3 Poznań has contributed to documenting the cultural life of the region by organizing broadcasts of concerts, festivals, and religious services. Throughout its operation, the station has received numerous awards for its contribution to preserving historical memory, which is particularly important in the context of the Greater Poland Uprising and documenting local traditions. Since 2020, the station has also produced lessons as part of "School with TVP," demonstrating its flexibility and adaptation to viewers' needs. TVP3 Poznań has become not only a source of information but also an essential element of local culture and education, bringing interesting facts, emotions, and events from the life of Greater Poland to its audience.
