TVP3 Rzeszów, also known as Telewizja Rzeszów, is a regional branch of Telewizja Polska (Polish Television) based in Rzeszów, which began its operations in the 1960s. Its history dates back to 1968, when Damazy Kwiatkowski, as a correspondent for Dziennik Telewizyjny (Television Daily), started delivering materials from Rzeszów to Warsaw. In 1972, the first broadcast of Panorama Rzeszowska took place, and in 1973, a small television studio was established, which fostered further development. In the 1990s, the station gained independence, and in 1990, it launched its regional broadcasting slot. In 1993, TVP Rzeszów became a full-fledged branch of Telewizja Polska. Over the years, the station has gained recognition for documenting the folk culture of the Podkarpacie region, organizing numerous cultural and charitable events. In 2001, the headquarters were relocated to a modern facility, improving working conditions and production capabilities. In the 21st century, Rzeszów television had to face technological challenges, including digitization. In 2013, digital broadcasting was launched, expanding the station's reach. TVP3 Rzeszów provides news, opinion, and cultural programs, including broadcasts of important local events. An interesting fact is that in 2001, TVP Rzeszów began collaborating with television stations from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary as part of the Kwartet program. Today, the station is available throughout the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and in parts of neighboring regions, and its programs are also accessible online via the TVP Stream and TVP GO applications. In 2023, TVP3 Rzeszów began broadcasting in HD quality, continuing its technological development.
