Ulrychów (Warszawa)

W skrócie

wikipedia
Ulrychów is a part of Warsaw, located within the Wola district, characterized by a rich history linked to the horticultural activities of the Ulrich family, who began cultivation in the area as early as 1712. Before World War II, the Ulrich Gardens were located here, one of the largest horticultural firms in Warsaw, which even produced pineapples. Over time, the area underwent urbanization, and between the 1950s and 1980s, residential estates and infrastructure were built. Today, Ulrychów is a dynamically developing neighborhood where several interwar tenement houses and fragments of the former gardens have been preserved, including dilapidated greenhouses and a manor house, which are gradually being renovated. In 2021, work began to transform the surviving remnants into a commercial space with dining and cultural functions. Ulrychów is also the site of numerous infrastructure initiatives, such as the Ulrychów metro station opened in 2022 and the modernization of the tram line. A significant part of the district is covered by green areas, including Reduta Wolska, the Warsaw Insurgents' Cemetery, and several parks that are regularly upgraded as part of the participatory budgeting scheme. It is also worth noting that Ulrychów is home to the first Mormon church in Poland and preserved wooden architecture reminiscent of the Kurpie building style.
