University of Economics in Katowice

The University of Economics in Katowice, founded in December 1936 as the Higher School of Socio-Economic Studies, has a rich history and continues to develop in key areas of education and research. In its early years, the university offered education at the Faculty of Industrial Organization and significantly expanded its academic offerings after World War II. Over the decades, it underwent structural transformations, eventually being renamed the Karol Adamiecki Academy of Economics. In 2010, the institution adopted its current name—University of Economics in Katowice.
