Ursus Deanery

The Ursus Deanery is one of the 25 Roman Catholic deaneries in the Archdiocese of Warsaw, part of the metropolitan area of Warsaw. It consists of eight parishes, reflecting both the architectural and cultural diversity of the region. The Parish of St. John the Apostle and Evangelist in Gołąbki is an example of modern architecture, while the Parish of the Holy Family in Ursus combines elements of tradition and modernity, serving as a central hub for the local community. Religious culture in the deanery is rich, with numerous socio-cultural initiatives engaging residents. Historically, the Ursus region has a unique past, linked to industrial development and population migration, which has influenced its demographic and socio-cultural structure. Interestingly, some parishes, such as Our Lady of Fatima in Niedźwiadek, are relatively young, highlighting the dynamic growth of local communities. It is also worth noting that, despite its small size, the deanery plays a significant role in organizing religious and cultural events, offering residents a platform for integration and spiritual growth.
