Venetian Narrow-Gauge Railway Museum

The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Wenecja, opened on October 1, 1972, is considered the largest open-air museum of its kind in Europe. Located at an active station of the Żnin County Railway, the museum houses a rich collection of narrow gauge rolling stock that once operated on the Żnin County Railway and the Bydgoszcz-Wyrzysk Local Railways. The museum's offerings include historic locomotives and carriages, some of which are accessible for interior exploration. An interesting exhibit is the postal carriage, which now functions as a souvenir shop selling commemorative postcards. Within the museum grounds, visitors can also find historic technical equipment, such as a railway turntable, a gatekeeper's booth, and a water crane for steam locomotives. The museum not only preserves historical aspects related to railways but also plays an important role in maintaining local culture and railway traditions. Its popularity contributed to the resumption of services on the Żnin Local Railway in 1976, allowing people to continue enjoying the charms of narrow gauge transport.
