wikipedia
Nalepówka Villa, also known as Goldmanówka Villa and the Palace of Weddings, is a Neo-Gothic building located in Gumniska, a district of Tarnów. It was likely built in the 1860s by brothers Franciszek and Tomasz Nalepa, owners of a nearby brickyard. Designed in the Neo-Gothic style, the villa stands out with its characteristic windows and entrance openings topped with pointed arches. The building's architecture also features crenellations and stepped gables. Initially, the property was surrounded by a large park and farm buildings. After the bankruptcy of the first owner, the villa was purchased by Stanisław Żelechowski, and in 1899 it passed into the hands of the Goldman family, whose business included the production of ceramics and candles. During World War I, the villa was devastated by Russian soldiers, and after the war, some of its rooms were rented out as apartments. In the interwar period, the Goldman family faced financial difficulties, leading to further degradation of the building. After World War II, Blanka Goldman, who survived the Holocaust with the help of the Poetschke family, returned to the villa, and the building became the seat of the Civil Registry Office from 1980 to 2019. In 2006, the villa was entered into the register of historical monuments, and the city of Tarnów became its full owner. Currently, after years of neglect, the villa is not in use, and the city has secured funds for its renovation, planning to transform it into a Social Dialogue Center. However, the tender for the renovation was canceled due to financial obstacles. It is worth noting that the villa has a rich history, and its architecture is an example of English Neo-Gothic style, making it an interesting object both culturally and historically.
