Węgliniec is an urban-rural municipality in Poland, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within Zgorzelec County. The administrative seat of the municipality is the town of Węgliniec. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship. Currently, the municipality is inhabited by approximately 8,233 people, and its area covers 338.44 km², of which 82% is forested, making it part of the Lower Silesian Wilderness. Within the municipality, there are significant nature reserves, such as Torfowisko pod Węglińcem and Wrzosiec koło Piasecznej, which protect unique ecosystems and endangered plant species.
