The Władysław Hasior Gallery in Zakopane, established in 1985, is a branch of the Tatra Museum and serves as an authorial exhibition space dedicated to the works of this renowned Polish artist. The gallery's collection consists of approximately 200 of Hasior's works, which were moved from his studio in 1984 to the renovated building of the former rest house of the "Warszawianka" sanatorium, constructed in 1935 according to the design of architect Wacław Nowakowski. Architecturally, the gallery combines elements of its sanatorium function with the modern requirements of an exhibition space, achieved during a thorough renovation in the 1980s when the facility was adapted for cultural needs, including the creation of a concert hall. In the second decade of the 21st century, the building underwent further significant modernization. The renovation, completed in 2021, was co-financed by the European Union under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014–2020. The project focused on the revalorization of the wooden buildings of the Tatra Museum, aiming to preserve and promote the unique cultural heritage of the Podhale region. After the completion of the works, the Wł. Hasior Gallery opened its doors to visitors during the Night of Museums, marking a significant cultural event in Zakopane's life. It is worth noting that the gallery not only exhibits Hasior's works but also serves as a promotional venue for other cultural events, making it an important point on the artistic map of the region. Interestingly, Hasior's work, known for its originality and deep connection to local traditions, is representative of the dialogue between art and nature, reflecting the character of Podhale and its culture.
