Nowy Targ

The Nowy Targ Municipality, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the Nowy Targ County, boasts a rich history and interesting architectural and cultural aspects. The seat of the municipality is the town of Nowy Targ, which for many years served as an important trade and cultural center in the Tatra region. The municipality covers an area of 208.65 km², dominated by agricultural land (57%) and forests (32%). According to data from 2018, it is home to 23,926 people, among whom a significant percentage are of Slovak nationality, which is particularly visible in the villages of Nowa Biała and Krempachy, where it amounts to 3.26%. The municipality includes numerous villages, such as Dębno, Gronków, and Ludźmierz, each with its unique features. Ludźmierz, for example, is known for its church, which is one of the oldest in the region and holds great historical and architectural value. Since 2024, Józef Parzygnat has been at the helm of the municipality, which may introduce new ideas and initiatives.
