wikipedia
Władysławowo, located in northern Poland in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, is a city on the Baltic Sea, characterized by beautiful beaches and rich tourist infrastructure. It was founded in the 17th century and was originally named Wielka Wieś (Great Village), with its history linked to fishing and the military significance of nearby Puck. In 1920, after World War II, the city began to develop intensively when the construction of a fishing port was launched in 1936. In 1963, Władysławowo gained city rights, but in 2015, an administrative change granted it the status of a locality, and the municipality became urban-rural. The architecture of Władysławowo combines modernity with historical elements, including the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the house promoted by General Haller. The city also has several monuments, such as the monument to Józef Haller and the Martyrs of Wielka Wieś. Culturally, Władysławowo is vibrant, organizing Summer Organ Concerts and boasting numerous museums, including the General Haller Memorial Center, the Butterfly Museum, and a natural history museum. The city hosts many cultural events and activities for tourists, such as Ocean Park and a multimedia exhibition about the work of fishermen. Władysławowo offers rich tourist infrastructure, with five bathing areas and a list of attractions, including amusement parks, rope parks, and a go-kart track. Transportation is well-developed, thanks to a railway station and PKS bus stops. An interesting fact about Władysławowo is its exclave on the Hel Peninsula, part of which still belongs to the city's administrative boundaries. The Avenue of Sports Stars runs through Władysławowo, honoring Polish athletes, and a mural in the port commemorates the history of the place. Culture, history, and nature make Władysławowo an exceptionally attractive tourist destination, offering much to both residents and visitors.
