The municipality of Wadowice, located in the picturesque region of the Wieliczka Foothills and the Little Beskids, covers an area of approximately 113 km² and, according to 2021 data, has a population of 37,421. The seat of the municipal authorities is the town of Wadowice, known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The municipality consists of 16 villages, including Babica, Barwałd Dolny, Chocznia, and Gorzeń. Architecturally, the area is renowned for its beautiful traditional Polish houses and historic landmarks, such as the Baroque Church of St. Peter the Apostle in Wadowice, where Karol Wojtyła (later Pope John Paul II) was baptized, giving this place a special significance. The cultural life of the municipality is enriched by seven Roman Catholic parishes and two Jehovah's Witness congregations, reflecting the spiritual diversity of its residents. It is worth noting that in 2013, a modern helicopter landing site was opened in the municipality, highlighting the development of infrastructure and the region's importance.
