Waganiec, a rural commune in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, is located in Aleksandrów County. Its administrative seat is the town of Waganiec. The commune, which until 1991 also included the settlement of Kolonia Nieszawa, covers an area of 54.56 km², dominated by agricultural land (88%) with a small share of forested areas (2%). As of December 31, 2013, the commune had a population of 4,562. Within its borders, several valuable historical monuments can be found. In Przypust, there is an 18th-century wooden filial church dedicated to Saints Stanislaus and Mary Magdalene, while in Waganiec, a preserved railway station from the years 1880–1890 stands. Also of interest is the manor park with a farmstead, which includes a complex of buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as a granary, a cowshed, and a barn. The grain mill, established at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, is also worth mentioning. The cultural heritage of the commune is further represented by the parish church of St. Adalbert from 1889, located in Zbrachlin. The commune is diverse in terms of settlements, comprising various villages such as Bertowo, Przypust, Zbrachlin, and Wójtówka. Smaller localities like Ariany, Byzie, and Stannowo are also part of the commune. An interesting fact is that Waganiec commune constitutes 11.47% of the total area of Aleksandrów County. It is surrounded by neighboring communes such as Bądkowo, Nieszawa, and Raciążek. With its rich architectural and natural heritage, Waganiec commune offers residents and tourists not only historical attractions but also picturesque landscapes ideal for recreation.
