wikipedia
War Cemetery No. 191 in Lubcza is an Austrian cemetery from the times of World War I, built by the Department of War Graves of the Imperial and Royal Military Command in Krakow within District VI Tarnów. It is located in Lubinka, on the southern slope of Lubinka Hill, near the road connecting Rychwałd with Dąbrówka. It was designed by Heinrich Scholz, who created a site with distinctive architecture, with a high column made of sandstone blocks as its central element. An inscription was placed on the column, paying poetic tribute to the fallen, calling for the honoring of loyalty and the joy of peace, with a message urging not to disturb the peace of the deceased. Beneath the column, there is a motif of an ancient helmet, emphasizing the militaristic nature of the place. The cemetery contains 6 mass graves, where 93 Austro-Hungarian and 111 Russian soldiers rest. The cemetery is an important symbol of local history and the memory of the tragic events of World War I, while also serving as a cultural site that allows contemporary visitors to reflect on history and peace.
