wikipedia
Warsaw Medical Care Center "Kopernik" Ltd. (formerly Warsaw Children's Hospital SPZOZ) has a long history dating back to 1869, when it was established through community donations as the "Private Medical Institution for Children of Dr. Sikorski." After its first location on Solna Street, the hospital moved to a new building on Kopernika Street, where it began operations on November 18, 1875, with 79 beds. Over the years, it expanded by opening new departments and increasing the number of beds, including the construction of an infectious diseases pavilion in 1884. The hospital was cared for by the Sisters of Mercy, which significantly influenced its development. During World War II, the hospital buildings were destroyed, and after the war, it resumed operations as the "Municipal Children's Hospital No. 1," treating young patients from across the country. In the following years, the hospital underwent many transformations, including a major renovation in 1995, and in 2000, new management took steps to rejuvenate and change the medical profile of the hospital. In 2015, the hospital received accreditation from the Ministry of Health, and in 2022, it transformed into the Warsaw Medical Care Center "Kopernik." Its architecture includes both historic buildings and modern medical technology solutions. The center focuses on high-quality medical services, as evidenced by numerous certifications, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013. It offers a wide range of departments, from pediatrics to orthopedic surgery, as well as developed rehabilitation programs, including neurological and physiotherapeutic programs. An interesting feature is the Children's Day Rehabilitation Center, which utilizes modern therapeutic methods. Additionally, the hospital collaborates with qualified staff, and through its Post-Hospital Clinic, it offers a range of specialist clinics, including allergology, endocrinology, neurology, and plastic surgery for children, highlighting its comprehensive medical offerings in the region.
