wikipedia
The Koliba Student Hut of the Warsaw University of Technology is a student mountain lodge located in the Bieszczady Mountains, between Połonina Caryńska and Magura Stuposiańska, at an altitude of 777 meters above sea level, near the Przysłup Caryński pass. Built between 1972 and 1974 by the student community of the Warsaw University of Technology, Koliba is now owned by the university and serves as a mountain shelter. After closing in 2010 for expansion, the facility was reopened on October 1 of the same year, showcasing modern architectural solutions while paying homage to the tradition of pre-war Carpathian shelters and regional architecture. The new Koliba was inaugurated by the rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Włodzimierz Kurnik, along with other university representatives and local community members. The shelter features modern amenities and provides tourists with comfortable accommodation, while its windows offer a picturesque view of Tarnica and Bukowe Berdo. Koliba is well-connected to hiking trails, making it an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts. Tourists can take advantage of nearby routes, such as the trail from Wetlina through Mała Rawka to Połonina Caryńska, as well as easy access to the PKS bus stop in Bereżki. It is worth emphasizing that Koliba is not only a place to stay but also a meeting point for students and mountain lovers, where one can experience a sense of adventure and community.
