wikipedia
The Weavers' Houses in Międzylesie are the two remaining buildings from a complex of seven half-timbered houses, known as the Seven Brothers, which were built at the end of the 18th century. These architectural gems, with their shingle roofs and arcades, once served as both residential and workshop spaces for weavers. Based on locally cultivated flax, artisans produced linens and woolens, and before World War II, the complex functioned as a mini regional museum, where weaving workshops were exhibited. Over the years, five of the seven houses were demolished in the 1970s, leaving only two, which have been partially reconstructed. The buildings feature a single-story structure with two-level attics built using log construction techniques, demonstrating the use of traditional craftsmanship methods. In addition to their architectural value, the Weavers' Houses are an important element of the cultural heritage of the region, showcasing the history of weaving and local craft traditions. Today, located on Sobieski Street in the Lower Silesian town of Międzylesie, they represent a valuable relic of regional heritage.
