Biały Bór is an urban-rural municipality located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the northeastern part of the Szczecinek County, with its seat in the town of Biały Bór. The municipality covers an area of 269.93 km², which constitutes 15.3% of the county's total area. According to data from 2019, the municipality was inhabited by 5,249 people, showing a slight decrease compared to previous years. The area boasts rich natural values, situated on the Bytów Lakeland and the Charzykowy Plain, with the Biała River flowing through its territory. Within the municipality, there are two nature reserves: "Jezioro Głębokie" and "Jezioro Iłowatka," as well as the highest point in the voivodeship – Góra Krajoznawców. An important tourist route is the green Szlak Wzniesień Moreny Czołowej (Trail of the Frontal Moraine Hills). The municipality also has a rich architectural heritage, including the neo-Gothic Church of St. Michael the Archangel from 1878, which features a beautifully preserved late Baroque altar. Among other preserved monuments are those dedicated to the victims of World War I and a monument to Taras Shevchenko, the Ukrainian poet, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region. Biały Bór also offers forest nature trails and outdoor exhibitions of wooden sculptures. The history of the municipality dates back to the pre-World War II period, and in the past, a railway line ran through the area, contributing to its development. Today, the municipality of Biały Bór is a place that combines unique natural resources, rich cultural heritage, and modern aspects of social and economic life for its residents.
