Wieruszów is an urban-rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, in Wieruszów County, with its seat in the town of Wieruszów, which held city status until 1954. The municipality is characterized by diverse terrain, dominated by agricultural land covering 68% of the area, and forested areas, which account for 20%. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 14,236. It comprises numerous villages, such as Chobanin, Cieszęcin, and Jutrków, as well as several smaller settlements, including Dobrydział and Górka Wieruszowska. Wieruszów borders several neighboring municipalities, such as Baranów and Bolesławiec, which contributes to its local social and cultural integration. The municipality has also been the site of primary elections, reflecting the political engagement of its residents.
