The municipality of Wijewo, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, borders four other municipalities and covers an area of 61.4 km², making it one of the smallest municipalities in the region. A significant portion of its land is occupied by agricultural areas, as well as forests and water bodies. The municipality has an agricultural character and is also a place where local dialects are still very much alive. The municipality includes villages such as Brenno, Miastko, Potrzebowo, Przylesie, Radomyśl, Wijewo, and Zaborówiec, as well as several smaller settlements. Wijewo was established as a rural municipality under a 1982 regulation, with its seat in the village of Wijewo. Between 1954 and 1975, the municipality was part of the Zielona Góra Voivodeship. From a natural perspective, the municipality of Wijewo is part of the Przemęt Landscape Park, established in 1991, and the Natura 2000 area, which protects rare species and their habitats, including Apium repens. The municipality is also home to numerous natural monuments, such as majestic oaks and linden trees, which hold exceptional natural and cultural value for the region. Local communities actively preserve traditions, making the municipality rich in local customs and linguistic diversity. Despite its small size, Wijewo combines valuable natural assets with a rich local culture, making it an interesting place for both residents and tourists.
