Leszno County

Leszczyński County, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, was established in 1999 as part of the administrative reform, but its history dates back much further, to 1887, when it was created during the reorganization of the German Empire's administration. The county seat, the city of Leszno, holds the status of an urban county. Leszczyński County comprises urban-rural municipalities such as Osieczna and Rydzyna, as well as rural municipalities like Krzemieniewo, Lipno, Święciechowa, Wijewo, and Włoszakowice. The region is characterized by a low unemployment rate, reflecting its stable economic situation. In terms of architecture, the county boasts numerous historical monuments, including structures related to both Prussian and Polish history. Osieczna features interesting buildings, while Rydzyna is known for its castle, an example of defensive architecture. Culturally, the county is artistically vibrant, with numerous events, festivals, and local traditions that attract both tourists and residents. Among its notable features, the region offers 36 cycling routes that form picturesque trails, as well as a less developed network of hiking paths. Leszczyński County also has a rich historical heritage, where events such as the Greater Poland Uprising significantly impacted the local community. The Przemęt Landscape Park is a tourist attraction that draws nature enthusiasts. Another point of interest is the Konwaliowy Trail—a kayaking water route.
