W skrócie

wikipedia
Las Wolski is an extensive forest area in the western part of Krakow, covering 419 hectares, serving recreational functions and forming part of the Krakow Municipal Forests. Within its boundaries, there are numerous limestone outcrops, such as Panieńskie Skały and Bielańskie Skałki, which are protected nature reserves, as well as Wolski Murek and Kawalerskie Skały, available for climbing. The forest also hides caves, including Jaskinia w Lesie Wolskim and Szczelina przed Gajówką. It is also a junction for numerous tourist trails, including routes leading to well-known sites such as the Zoo and Kościuszko Mound, a significant viewpoint constructed between 1934 and 1937. It is worth noting the architectural gems of the region, such as Willa Baszta in Przegorzały, designed by Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz, and Zamek w Przegorzałach, built during World War II. Las Wolski is also rich in fauna and flora diversity, with 32 tree species, including dominant ones such as oak, beech, and birch. Interestingly, the forest was purchased in 1917 by the Krakow City Savings Bank with the intention of creating a people's park. Moreover, the area of Las Wolski attracts tourists not only for its natural values but also for its numerous recreational clearings, such as Polana Juliusza Lea, as well as recreational infrastructure with 40 km of marked walking trails and catering facilities. Foresters take care of the old-growth forest, ensuring that Las Wolski retains its natural landscape and ecological values.
