Wondroże Wielkie

Wądroże Wielkie is a rural commune located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in Jawor County. The seat of the commune is the town of Wądroże Wielkie. The commune covers an area of 89.15 km², of which 80% is agricultural land and 4% is forest land, making it an important agricultural area. In 2015, the commune was inhabited by 4,001 people, and by 2019 this number had dropped to 3,912. In Wądroże Wielkie and surrounding localities such as Bielany, Budziszów Mały, or Kosiska, one can find local traditions and cultural elements rooted in the historical significance of the region. The commune maintains traditional village administrative units (sołectwa), which reflect the social structure and organization of local life. The commune has a rich railway history, as a railway line launched in 1902 ran through its territory, connecting the granite basin of Strzegom with the river port in Malczyce, although it is currently closed.
