The Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski High School No. XVII with Bilingual Divisions in Warsaw, located in the Śródmieście district at Elektoralna Street, boasts a rich history dating back to 1959, when the cornerstone was laid for the first "millennium school" in the capital, built with the support of local communities. The official opening took place on June 28, 1960. From the very beginning, the school implemented innovative teaching approaches, serving as a "practice school" for the University of Warsaw between 1961 and 1968, which fostered various didactic research projects. Throughout its history, the school introduced many groundbreaking initiatives, such as specialized classes, elective courses, computer science education, as well as psychological and medical support for students. It is also worth mentioning events that left a mark on the school's history, such as the tragic death of student Grzegorz Przemyk in 1983, which became not only a painful memory but also a catalyst for social activism among alumni.
