wikipedia
Jażwiny is a picturesque village in Poland, located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the municipality of Czarna. The history of the settlement dates back to the Middle Ages, with the first mentions appearing in the 15th century in the context of property disputes over the estates of Zawisza Czarny. Over the centuries, the village changed owners, including well-known noble families, until the period of Austrian partition, when the social situation of the inhabitants deteriorated. After the abolition of serfdom in 1848, changes occurred in the social and property structure of the village, but peasants often struggled with poverty and difficulties in daily life. In the 20th century, Jażwiny experienced the effects of both world wars, including loss of life and property destruction. After the war, the village was rebuilt, and in 1997, a School Complex was established. In 2009, after renovation, the People's House was transformed into a Rural Cultural Center, which serves as an important hub for cultural life in the community. Architecturally, the village is characterized by chapels and crosses, several of which are listed in the heritage register, including 19th-century wooden chapels and a cross erected in 1880. Jażwiny is not only a place with a rich history but also a local cultural hub where residents engage in various social and cultural activities and actively participate in regional traditions and events.
