Zabrodzie is a rural commune in the Masovian Voivodeship, located in Wyszków County, with its administrative seat in the village of Zabrodzie. The commune covers an area of 92.03 km², dominated by agricultural land (67%) and forests (24%). In 2007, it was inhabited by 5,599 people. Located approximately 40 km from Warsaw and 13 km from Wyszków, the commune is well-connected, intersected by the international S8 highway and the Tłuszcz-Ostrołęka railway line. Zabrodzie is home to a branch of the Cooperative Bank, the Municipal Office, and a private healthcare center. The first historical records of the village date back to 1578. In a historical context, the commune is associated with figures such as Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński and Cyprian Kamil Norwid, who was born in the nearby village of Głuchy. Zabrodzie offers numerous tourist attractions, including the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity in Niegów, whose construction began in 1863 and which houses valuable monuments such as stained glass windows and sculptures. Głuchy, as Norwid's birthplace, is a tourist draw thanks to the larch manor where he spent his early childhood. Dębinki features a former classical palace, now a children's home, surrounded by a beautiful park with ancient trees. In Gaj Fiszor, there is a monastery of the Benedictine Sisters, Samaritan of the Cross of Christ, which hosted Cardinal Wyszyński and Karol Wojtyła. The commune is also home to historic oak trees and two manor parks. The captivating landscape, including the Bug River and unique bearberry heathlands, attracts many tourists, including residents of Warsaw who spend their vacations in recreational gardens here.
