Zagnańsk, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in the Kielce County, is a rural municipality surrounded by the Suchedniów-Oblęgór Landscape Park. The municipal seat is in Zagnańsk, while some institutions, such as the Municipal Public Library and a branch of the Cooperative Bank, are located in the nearby Samsonów. It is worth noting the rich architectural heritage, including the 17th-century Church of St. Rosalia and Martin, which was expanded in the 19th and 20th centuries, and wooden villas from the interwar period when Zagnańsk was a popular holiday destination. A notable attraction is the mighty pedunculate oak, known as Bartek, which is approximately 650 years old and is a natural monument. Zagnańsk also boasts biodiversity, with forests dominating the land use, covering 59% of the municipality's area of 124.37 km². According to demographic data, the municipality had a population of 12,982 in 2019.
