Zawady is a rural commune located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, within Białystok County, with its administrative seat in the village of Zawady. From 1975 to 1998, it was part of the Łomża Voivodeship. In 2012, the commune had a population of 2,887 and covered an area of 112.67 km², of which 60% was agricultural land and 31% was forested. Zawady is a typical rural commune with numerous localities such as Cibory, Rudniki, and Strękowa Góra. In the cultural sphere, the Youth Folk Group "ZAWADY plus" stands out, promoting local culture and traditions. The commune is also developing its digital infrastructure, offering residents wireless internet access.
