Zdzieszowice is an urban-rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Krapkowice County, with its administrative seat in Zdzieszowice. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Opole Voivodeship. According to data from December 31, 2017, its population was 15,889 inhabitants. The municipality covers an area of 57.85 km², of which 63% is agricultural land and 14% is forested. The municipality occupies 13.08% of the total area of the county. Zdzieszowice includes village districts (sołectwa) such as Januszkowice, Jasiona, Krępna, Oleszka, Rozwadza, and Żyrowa, while the locality of Wielmierzowice does not have the status of a village district. The municipality borders the municipalities of Gogolin, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Leśnica, Krapkowice, Reńska Wieś, Strzelce Opolskie, and Walce. Historically, the region is associated with rich agricultural and industrial traditions, which have shaped the development of Zdzieszowice over the years.
