Gniewino is a rural municipality in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in Wejherowo County. Its administrative seat is the town of Gniewino. The municipality consists of 12 village districts, including Bychowo, Chynowie, Czymanowo, and Kostkowo. In 2019, the population of the municipality was 7,436. Between 1975 and 1998, Gniewino was part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship, and since 2012, it has had an operational helipad. The municipality is also home to the Kaszubskie Oko tourist and recreational complex, which features the John Paul II observation tower, making it an attractive destination for both tourists and locals. Covering an area of 176.21 km², the municipality is characterized by 42% agricultural land and 40% forested areas, making it an ideal location for nature enthusiasts. Among its natural attractions is the Długosz Królewski Nature Reserve in Łęczyn, which protects rare species of flora. Outdoor games and activities, as well as local festivals, are integral to the municipality's culture, blending Kashubian traditions with modernity.
